From 2011 to 2013, I worked as a research assistant to Mariko Takagi on her typography project Hanzi Graphy. I evaluated Chinese-language sources and collaborated with Takagi through verbal and visual discussions. Together, we developed various presentation formats for conferences (ATypI 2012, Hong Kong; ATypI 2013, Amsterdam), two exhibitions in Hong Kong, and the book Hanzi Graphy: A typographic translation between Latin letters and Chinese characters.
For the Hanzi Graphy exhibition, I managed most production processes, working with techniques such as wood engraving, relief printing, and laser cutting.
